Microscopic
Endodontics
Our priority is to preserve your natural teeth. 3D technology and the dental microscope allow us to save pieces that were previously considered lost.
Dr. Ángeles Parra
Specialist in Microscopic Endodontics
Severe Caries
When infection reaches the nerve causing inflammation and severe pain.
Trauma
Fractures that expose dental pulp to external bacteria.
Periodontal Lesion
Infections in the bone surrounding the tooth root.
No risk
We treat the infection to prevent it from spreading to the bloodstream.
Key Symptom
Pain is a clear signal
A tooth infection is a serious problem. Not only because of the discomfort it causes, but because it can create severe infections both near and far from the affected tooth.
We use CBCT (3D tomography) and dental microscope for maximum success and precision of treatment, minimizing any post-operative discomfort.
Clinical Protocol
Your root canal step by step
Diagnosis via CBCT
3D analysis of tooth anatomy to ensure success. We have in-house CBCT technology for speed.
Local Anesthesia
We prepare the area so you feel nothing. Sometimes prior antibiotics are required if there is severe inflammation.
Pulp Removal
Precise access to the nerve under dental isolation, improving treatment experience and hygiene.
Canal Cleaning
Use of latest generation flexible files and antibacterial irrigation to remove any trace of infection.
Tooth Sealing
Filling canals with biocompatible material and final reconstruction to restore tooth functionality.
Complex Treatments
Microscopic Retreatment
Sometimes, a previous root canal does not give the expected result. At Koral Clinic, our first option is always to solve the problem without resorting to extraction.
A retreatment is a procedure of great difficulty requiring detailed analysis and high technical skill.
We count on the high qualification of Dr. Ángeles Parra.
Why do external cases fail?
- Canals not originally treated
- New bacterial leakage
- Complex dental anatomy not seen in 2D
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a root canal painful?
No. Thanks to advanced local anesthesia and modern techniques, the patient feels no pain during the procedure. The goal of endodontics is precisely to eliminate pain caused by nerve infection.
How long does the treatment take?
Generally performed in a single session of 60 to 90 minutes, depending on tooth complexity and number of canals. Very severe infections may require a second appointment.
What care should I take afterwards?
It is normal to feel slight sensitivity when chewing for the first few days. We recommend not eating very hard things until the tooth is definitively reconstructed, as after endodontics the piece becomes somewhat more fragile.
Why is a root canal better than extracting the tooth?
Nothing works as well as your own natural tooth. Keeping your piece prevents adjacent teeth from moving, prevents bone loss, and is aesthetically more natural.
Can a tooth with a root canal have cavities?
Yes. Although the tooth no longer has a nerve (sensitivity), the external structure remains susceptible to bacteria. Therefore, it is fundamental to maintain good hygiene and attend periodic reviews.
